Clinical Insourcing

Does your department need to reduce waiting lists safely and cost effectively?

We provide optimised efficiencies via sustainable insourcing solutions

Why choose CSSA for clinical insourcing ?

CSSA was set up in November 2021, yet in a short time has become known for an extremely high standard of service which "never lets you down" and "always goes above and beyond to find solutions".

We are a small clinical insourcing company, and as a core team who are dedicated to ensuring our service is delivered at the highest standards. As such we do not have significant overheads and shareholders so savings are shared directly with the NHS and Private providers, making us one of the most cost effective, fully managed insourcing solutions

Joined up thinking increases productivity

Regularly achieving 6/7 joint replacements in each orthopaedic list, we support our teams to do the job that they do best, eliminating down time through a holistic approach to our processes

By improving communication across departments we are able to consider the patients journey through the hospital, and create a bridge ensuring all elements work together to improve efficiencies', all of which is pre planned and discussed prior to lists starting on site, with thorough clinical site visits and discussions across departments.

Supporting the entire Pathway

We offer a nurse led patient booking service which ensures that the case mix is optimal for a full list,  and we ensure that we are able to plan these with local scheduling teams to provide beds where necessary, and integrate with local on call teams so that there are no surprises.

Through working with local surgeons and becoming part of the list building process, we are able to increase the complexity of the cases tat we include in lists, allowing Trusts to make genuine waiting list reductions.

Working with Local Teams

Working with your local surgeons we have developed creative solutions to collaborate on ensuring all of the needs of patients are met, covering outpatients, surgery, follow up and on call solutions. Ensuring that your local teams are considered offering assurances about a hand over of care

NHS Consultant Surgeon

I enjoy working with CSSA teams, the professionalism and skill they bring is a lesson to us all in how theatres can and should be run. The scrub nurses are outstanding and processes are so slick, we have, as a Trust, learned a lot from working with them.

I know that when I work with them that I will be able to optimise my lists, almost doubling the volume of cases I would usually achieve, as they ensure there is no waiting around in between cases.

NHS Directorate Manager

CSSA never let us down, their teams are professional, and  always have the correct skill set to match our patient lists.

They respectfully blend in with our teams who were reluctant to allow external teams on the initially, but now they ask to work with them to learn more about efficiencies.

Their team ensure that they visit site in advance and create a plan, get to know our theatres, and they deliver a solution that meets our specific needs

The admin team always go above and beyond to help us with unplanned lists and their Clinical Manager is so knowledgeable that all of the consultants and theatre staff have respect for them.

Even though they work at weekends I am never concerned that I will get a call out of hours because their onsite and office management just take care of everything

Trust Director

I was surprised to find the level of service offered by CSSA at such a competitive rate. They managed General surgery outpatient and surgical services and overcame many delays and challenges to deliver an extremely high standard of service.

With financial challenges that all Trusts face, it was an investment to implement an insourcing project, however we found, on reflection, that with lists optimised by CSSA, coupled with their fixed day rate that costs to us were lower than hiring agency staff. We also felt that the volume of patients was completed far quicker than anticipated, with their running 3 simultaneous lists, allowing us to move onto the next project

NHS Frameworks

We are currently available via the Countess of Chester Framework and are waiting to be added to the bigger frameworks later this year, but all work can easily be allocated via the standard NHS Insourcing contract and allocated to their appropriate Framework number

Outsourcing

The outsourcing model used by many Trusts is also desirable but waiting lists and staffing issues also impacting private hospitals can make this challenging, so we approached colleagues in the private sector to offer another solution.

Through joint working models we can offer a solution away from your site, which allows us to see your patient at a local private hospital, enabling the private hospitals to maximise theatre usage and access untapped income, offering patient choice, and reducing lists of overnight cases.

As beds are also at a premium, by using local private hospitals for day cases combined with some overnight stays we can ensure that their unused beds can be offered to our patients who are largely discharged on a Monday morning.

Working most recently with Sulis Hospital in Bath our innovative joint model of care has proven popular with patients, staff and Trusts.

This truly has been a win/win solution in the South West
