  • What is Erectile Dysfunction and Why does Erectile Dysfunction happen?
    Erectile dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, is the inability to get and maintain an erection. Erectile dysfunction is a very common condition, particularly in older men. It is estimated that half of all men between the ages of 40 and 70 will have it to some degree. Erectile dysfunction can have a range of causes, both physical and psychological. Physical causes include: narrowing of the blood vessels going to the penis – commonly associated with high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol or diabetes hormonal problems surgery or injury Psychological causes of ED include: anxiety depression relationship problems Sometimes erectile dysfunction only occurs in certain situations. For example, you may be able to get an erection during masturbation, or you may find that you sometimes wake up with an erection but you are unable to get an erection with your sexual partner. If this is the case, it is likely the underlying cause of erectile dysfunction is psychological (stress related). If you are unable to get an erection under any circumstances, it is likely that the underlying cause is physical. Erectile dysfunction can also be a side-effect of using certain medicines.   • What treatments are available?
    Depending on your assessment we may recommend the use of devices or medication, which we can prescribe for you. We may also recommend blood tests. Once we have had a consultation with you there are usually lots of tips and advice we can give you as part of your management plan to address your issue.   • What happens at my first appointment?
    Our highly qualified expert will run through any areas of your assessment for that they need more information on, and then offer you advice and reassurance. They will complete the appointment by explaining a management plan, which will be sent to you after the appointment, with links to any follow up recommendations for prescriptions or products which would help you.
  • What happens at my first appointment?
    Before taking any weight loss medication, we ask you to complete our weight loss eligibility assessment to determine whether you are eligible, and the level of support you require from our experienced specialist team of clinical professionals. Depending on the package we recommend for you, a weight loss nurse will assess your needs and you will have the opportunity to ask questions of any of our specialist clinical team, as well as gaining access to our support forum and library of resources. You also have the option to book any additional support you require including meetings with a consultant, or therapy sessions.
  • How long do I need to take weight loss drugs for?
    The length of time you take weight loss drugs for depends on a number of factors including your weight loss progress, side effects, and suitability to the drug you have been subscribed. Your specialist team will monitor your journey to ensure you stay on best medication for you, for the optimum length of time.
  • How do weight loss drugs work?
    The majority of weight loss medications work by imitating the hormone responsible for regulating your appetite and making you hungry. Weight loss drugs are able to target your brain receptors, telling them you are full, which stops the food noise, causing you to want to eat less.   • Am I eligible for weight loss drugs?
    If you are over the age of 18 and have a BMI of 30 or higher (or a BMI of 27.5 depending on other factors), then you may be eligible for our weight loss drugs. Weight loss drugs are not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. As with any prescription, there are contraindications to use which will be reviewed by our clinicians.   • Do you provide this via the NHS?
    We are working with the NHS to offer certain services, this does not yet include weight loss, however we will do all that we can do add this service for NHS customers over time. Right now only self funding patients can access this service
  • Is medical weight loss safe?
    We offer a range of drugs including Wegovy, and Mounjaro, which have all undergone extensive clinical trials before being approved for use in the UK. Our specialist team of weight loss nurses, clinicians, nutritionists, and diet experts work together to ensure that you are prescribed a weight loss drug that is right for you and your body and provide you with the support you need to access it safely. We know there is no one size fits all so offer a range of options and adapt our services to support weight loss in any form, whether that is weight loss medication, education, psychological support, or surgery.   • Will I be eligible for this Drug
    Only our specialists can decide this. In line with NICE Guidelines they will asses your application form and you will be advised whether or not you are eligible. They may need to ask you further details and will contact you directly, so be sure to provide the best contact method to your form
  • How do I know which dosage to take?
    When you are prescribed a weight loss drug by our team, you will receive support around dosage and application, which will be determined by a professional following your initial assessment. Injectables eg. Wegovy come in colour coded pens according to dosage, so each time your dose increases, you will receive a different colour pen.
  • Do weight loss drugs have side effects?
    As with any medication, there is the possibility of side effects. The most common side effects of weight loss drugs are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, heartburn, fatigue, and headaches.
